Pupil Led School Energy Audit – KS 2, 3 and 4

Pupil led school energy auditAn excellent first step in raising awareness of energy in school is to have a closer look at the energy use of the building in question. To support schools in doing so a pupil led school energy audit template has been produced to assist your Eco-Team or class to target and investigate particular areas of the school. The results of these audits can then be communicated to the whole school through an assembly, a newsletter or a bulletin.

The audits have been designed to be flexible and each section does not have to be completed at the same time. They can also be used to support your Eco-Schools ‘Environmental Review’ and/or to support your team to ‘Monitor and Evaluate’ the impact of their work within school.

The audit template includes sections on:

  • The School Building
  • Our Electricity Consumption
  • Our Heating Fuel
  • Lighting
  • Computers and IT Equipment
