This exchange project was developed by five partner organisations. These comprised three UK local authorities (Devon County Council, Dorset County Council and Wiltshire Council) and the French county council of Côtes d’Armor, and Lannion-Trégor Communauté. The SEACS project assisted communities in a variety of ways to help them raise awareness on climate and energy issues and encourage people to change attitudes and behaviours towards energy usage for the long term. The community component of the project formed one of three strands with the other two strands targeting public buildings and schools. The community support included local authority-led programmes; facilitation and support to community groups; and direct assistance to individuals, community groups and partnerships. The project involved testing and piloting innovative tools and exchanging ideas and experiences both within France and England and between the countries.
This section pulls together the various approaches taken by different partners by way of case studies that demonstrate the different initiatives developed throughout the SEACS project. It also includes some videos, reference materials and tools.
