The School Energy Behaviour Evaluation Matrix is a useful tool to help you take stock of how your school is performing in terms of energy management and conservation and identify your future aims. This resource takes you through five key areas of self assessment:
- Senior Leadership (SLT) Commitment
- Energy Management
- Involving the whole school and wider community
- Monitoring and Reporting
- Curriculum Links
Each area can be scored on a five point scale from “not started” to “Excellence”. Commentary for each scoring level provides useful pointers and progression in areas of work. The scoring is aligned to Eco Schools Bronze, Silver and Green Flag awards and so can be a useful tool in helping you with the Energy topic as part of your Eco Schools journey.
This resource is a useful tool to help you structure your approach to energy. We recommend that you fill it in as honestly as possible and use the areas identified for improvement to guide your future work programme and aspirations. Good Luck!
