Through the SEACS project, a number of resources have been developed to help schools to work effectively on energy conservation by raising awareness and taking appropriate targeted action. These resources can all be found within this Schools Toolkit. Different resources may appeal to different people within the school community and we have split the toolkit into the following three sections accordingly:
The resources contained within the Toolkit aim to help your school to achieve energy savings, at whatever point you are on the journey to be becoming more sustainable. There is for example a simple self evaluation matrix to help you take stock of what you are doing already, and identify areas for future work. There are also a range of lesson plans that you can download to help bring an understanding of energy and its conservation into the classroom. We have also included some information and handy tips on how to run awareness raising campaigns to engage the whole school on this important issue. In addition there are some useful templates and guidance notes to help your school audit and measure your current levels of energy consumption, and identify opportunities for savings. Finally, there are several case studies and videos, showing how some of the tools have been used in real life as part of the SEACS project.
We hope you will find this Toolkit useful. Please feel free to explore it and download as many of the resources that are useful to you and your school. Good luck saving energy!
