How to use the pupil led audit

Pupil Led AuditThe SEACS Project aims to raise awareness of climate and energy issues in schools and communities on both sides of the channel.

An excellent first step in doing this is to have a closer look at the energy use of the building in question. To support schools in doing so ‘Pupil led’ Energy Audits have been produced to assist your Eco-Team or class to target and investigate particular areas of the school. The results of these audits can then be communicated to the whole school through an assembly, a newsletter or a bullet-in.

The audits have been designed to be flexible and each section does not have to be completed at the same time. They can also be used to support your Eco-Schools ‘Environmental Review’ and/or to support your team to ‘Monitor and Evaluate’ the impact of their work within school.

The audit template includes sections on:

  • The School Building
  • Our Electricity Consumption
  • Our Heating Fuel Lighting
  • Computers and IT Equipment
